These are vintage Charles and Ray Eames Bikini Chairs from the 1950s. They are original DKR (dining height, k-wire shell, rod iron base) chairs with the wire cross weave of enameled steel and Eiffel base the Eames are known for. This cross weave keeps them very strong and stable but lightweight. The first DKR chairs were produced in 1951. These chairs were produced by Herman Miller, and the original labels are on each. This pair has their original turquoise leather cushions and feet. They are in excellent condition; but as with each of the vintage Bikini Chairs I’ve seen the “snaps” are broken. I purchased them this way and have not restored them as I did not want to ruin the their integrity.

I love mid century modern furniture and furnishings. I sell art, mostly 20th century and 21st century prints in an Ebay store called roundtwoarts.
