From the 1970’s-80’s, and still very popular in the Czech Republic, as Puppetry is an old tradition.
What a wonderful vintage theater marionette play set, so colorful, multiple story boards and puppets
The front of the stage is outlined in 2 blue boards with a pink satin roll up curtain.
The stage itself is 23″ × 14 1/2″ × 2″ , has 8 holes, 4 on each side to support the many story boards, and is hollow for storage.
There are a total of 6 narrow story boards (13″ × 4 1/2") with 2 scenes per board
The 2 larger backdrop boards (18 1/2″ × 13 1/2") also have 2 scenes per board
Also included is a diagram to show how the boards are set up together
As well as 6 posts (15″ × 1″) which insert into the stage and support the story boards
There are a total of 6 marionette puppets. (I do not know if this collection is complete.)
Included are the King and Queen, the princess, the two children, and an older woman. The 2 children are Hans and Gretal, from the Brothers Grimm.
Each puppet has an metal post with begins in the puppets upper back and extends upward and above the puppet to control the strings which hang down and control the puppets hands.
The puppets are 5" – 6 1/2" high. The puppets heads appear to be porcelain, and their legs are wood.
The clothing fabric appears to be a manmade material. The puppets are intact with the exception of the King, he is missing his legs :(

This set has signs of age and use. The story boards are constructed of heavy paper board, and have signs of yellowing.
