This item is a beautiful solid maple bench from the 1950’s. The Hoover Chair Company manufactured furniture from its headquarters in Lexington, North Carolina throughout the twentieth century. The company went out of business in 1968, and its manufacturing facility was later gutted by a fire in 1972. The manufacturing facility had been purchased by the Burlington House Furniture Company.
The stool was in pretty bad shape when we found it. It was carefully sanded and finished with a light maple finish very much the same as the original. The old cushion was replaced with a great new contemporary fabric. It doubles as an awesome ottoman. There is a slight discoloration on the lower legs. This is a great piece of Americana from a company that no longer exists. The dimensions are 26 1/2" long by 15" wide by 17 1/2" high.
