Modular Component System (MCS) Model 3260 Receiver. Plays good and clean with plenty of power and is in great condition! We have been using this receiver to listen to the radio (NPR junkies!) and for playing the iPod/iPad/iPhone/streaming Pandora (cable not included); only selling because my husband found a deal on a new receiver that he just can’t pass up. Has output for two sets of speakers. Made in Japan. Serial Number serial number 0260478; date code 206 (early/mid 1980s?). Measures 19×12 3/4×5 3/4 inches. Heavy.
MCS was marketed in the US by JCPenney in the 1970s-80s and has generally proved to be solidly designed and built gear. Most MCS (Modular Component Systems) equipment was built by either Matsushita (parent company of Panasonic (founded 1918) and Technics (introduced 1965) or NEC (established 1898-99, originally known as Nippon Electric Company). Both VERY well respected, electronics industry giants. Most of the MCS stereo receivers and amplifiers prove to be fine performers.
