Artek-Pascoe 1940’s Modernist Dresser:
For your consideration is a very rare mid-century modern dresser produced by Artek-Pascoe in the 1940’s. This was purchased from the estate of a well know graphic and type designer who did work for this company in the 40’s and received this as a gift. He is 93 years old and referred to this as the “Alvar Aalto” dresser. I did quite a bit of research and I cannot find any other example of this chest or any info on who actually designed it. Could be Aalto or his partner in this short lived venture, Clifford Pascoe. There are trademarks of both designers found in this piece. It is unmarked which is common for furniture of this era. In-person viewing is welcome upon request.
Measurements: 37 7/8" wide x 19 1/8" deep and 35 3/4" tall
Condition: Good original condition. There are numerous blemishes and imperfections throughout as expected with a 60+ year old piece of furniture that has not be refinished. Thin veneer chip at the bottom of right hand side. The birch wood has a very warm, aged patina. More photos available upon request.
Shipping: Please contact us for possible shipping options. Use of a freight carrier who will blanket wrap the piece is recommended. Local delivery available for a reasonable fee.
