Set of two small round bowls with beautiful scroll work handles – also known as porringers – originally used in Medieval Europe and typically made from silver or pewter. These I believe are pewter and, as seen in the pictures, could use a buffing.
There are markings on the underside of the handles which could be used to identify the origins of these porringers, however my quick search came up with nothing definitive. Who knows where a little research might lead?
4 1/2" in diameter across the top with a 2" handle, 1 1/2" deep.
As I don’t know many people still eating their morning oatmeal with a porringer; I’d use these for candles, or as a candy dish, or desktop organizers!
