Selling this funky midcentury lounge chair and matching ottoman. This thing is really comfortable and looks very cool. It’s covered in black vinyl and each piece has a 5-prong, star-shaped chrome base. It looks just like a chair that was designed by Overman and may, in fact, be an original Overman chair, but unfortunately, there is no way of knowing because the tags are missing.
The chair is approximately 32" wide x 32" deep x 42" tall and the ottoman is approximately 22" wide x 22" deep x 16" tall.
It’s in good shape for its age, but does have a few minor flaws. First, on the base of the ottoman, one of the plastic feet that attach to the chrome legs is missing and two other plastic feet are broken (see the close-up of the ottoman feet, below). It doesn’t affect the stability at all, just the aesthetics somewhat. If the ottoman is sitting on a carpet with a deep pile or on a shag rug, you can’t even tell. Also, there are a few very minor scratches in the vinyl. None are very noticeable. Finally, there is one section under the chair where the lining is torn (see the close-up, below). Because it’s under the chair, it’s also not very noticeable.
I’m asking $200 for both. I was originally hoping to sell for more, but I really want to get this out by the morning of Friday, January 11 because I have new furniture arriving. If interested, please call 510-701-1599 and ask for Patrick. You have to be able to come and pick it up from my place, though I’m happy to help you carry it out to your car.
