Gavina Marcel Breuer Cesca Chairs. Authentic – not a reproduction. There are several iterations of these chairs, but this is the Real Deal. Gavina fabricated these chairs with Breuer’s permission. In 1968, Knoll Associates, now the Knoll Group, bought the Gavina factory, which continues to produce the chair. This chairs are in great vintage condition. I believe that this is the second caning that this chair has seen. There is very light damage to the caning on the seat and some age appropriate wear on the arm rests (see last picture) but considering that these chairs cost $1200 new, this is a steal. The other matching chair needs slightly more caning repair – but it still very usable. (see 6th photo for chair back) More photos upon request.
